Virtual Preschool Program

Vineyard Children’s Center announces a Virtual Preschool option!

We recognize that in these current times, some families are hesitant to send their child to preschool.  For parents, the dilemma is how to foster your preschooler’s growth and development.

Our goals for our Virtual Preschool program are:

  • Provide ongoing learning and development for your child.
  • Provide a platform to support parents and help your child stay engaged in learning.
  • Stay connected while creating small, virtual learning communities.

The Virtual preschool program is for children ages 3 and 4.  Using the HighScope curriculum, children and parents will engage with their teacher through:

  • Daily Large group meetings with virtual learning classmates.
  • Small Group meeting time 3 times per week (beginning the end of Sept.)
  • 1:1 consultation time with your teacher twice per week
  • Daily recorded guided learning sessions for the parent and child
  • Daily recorded interactive story time for the parent and child.

Daily meetings, Small group meetings and consultation time with the teacher will be through the Zoom platform.  Meetings will be no longer than 15 minutes and will be recorded for families who miss the log in time.  Recorded sessions will use Google classroom.  With Google classroom, the teacher can post the recorded sessions, slide shows and parent resources.  This platform is also a learning community so parents can connect with other parents in your virtual learning group and share what they have been doing at home.

Each week, your teacher will provide a list of materials and resources needed for the following week’s sessions.  Materials will be common items found in the home.  Sessions will be interactive, allowing children to explore and create.  Worksheets are not part of the HighScope curriculum as we believe children learn best when actively engaged in concrete experiences with real objects.
